For those of us in the United States, Valentine's Day (Feb 14th) is one of those holidays that you ignore at your own peril, especially if you're in some sort of committed relationship.
It's funny -- the storage blogosphere has grown into a sort of strange committed relationshp.
We all read each other, we all know where everyone is coming from, and we can predict pretty much how each of us will react to different circumstances.
So, without further delay, allow me to offer my best Valentine's Day Wishes to the following storage bloggers!
The line is a partial quote from the (in)famous Eliot Spitzer.
I am very pleased to welcome Andrew Chapman to the EMC blogosphere. As you'll see, he's very passionate about a number of newer topics in information management: compliance, records mgmt, and so on. And to get the full Spitzer quote (which is great!), you'll have to see Andrew's blog ...
You know, at some point, the IT industry is going to have to get together and publicly acknowledge Mr. Sptizer for all of the IT spend he's created. Don't know if that was his motivation, but -- if you think about it -- all of us in the vendor community can't ignore his cumulative effect.
Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been posting lately.
One of the hardest things I find with this whole blogging thing is regular contributions to keep it fresh. And I've fallen down in that regard in the last week-and-a-half.
No real excuse -- just a lot of travel and work-related stuff -- and I didn't want to bore anyone with a travelogue-style entry. Business travel sounds glamorous, until you realize that every airplane seat and hotel room looks about the same. Trust me, a conference room is a conference room just about everywhere in the world.
But it's always great meeting new people, which is I guess why we travel.
So let me provide a bit of catch-up in this post, before I get to some beefier topics I've been thinking about.
Chuck Hollis VP -- Global Marketing CTO EMC Corporation @chuckhollis
Chuck has been with EMC for 17 years, most of them great.
He enjoys speaking to customer and industry audiences about a variety of technology topics, and -- of course -- enjoys blogging.
He lives in Holliston, MA with his wife, three kids and four dogs when he's not travelling. In his spare time, Chuck is working on his second career as an aging rock musician.
Warning: do not buy him a drink when there is a piano nearby.
I try and write something new 1-2 times per week; less if I'm travelling, more if I'm in the office. Hopefully you'll find the frequency about right!
Comments and Feedback
I'm going to be approving comments before they get posted here. Any information you can share about who you are, how to contact you, what you do for a living, etc. would very much be appreciated.
