Chuck - You never disappoint with depth in your posts. Let's discuss one aspect - what is happening on the Delivery Side. Yes, there are a few organizations that can extend their IT investments to others. But for this small event to be meaningful, Healthcare needs to address the concepts of Federation and Vendor Neutral Archive. Big data by itself is not enough of a catalyst without some compelling framework around how these organizations exchange, protect, and access that data in a vendor neutral archive governed by a Federated set of standards that protect their collective interests.

Hi Blaine

I agree with every point you're making here. I'm working on a follow-up post with some thoughts around VNA, DICOM and how the resulting metadata can power analytics that make a difference.

Thanks for the comment ...

VNX5700 as Tier1 in Medical PACS environment using VBlock and i want to keep clariion as Tier2 for disk to disk incremental backup using Networker, in addition to one year archival purposes.
what is the archive software recommended? To optimize the customer cost we prefer CX to centra. i have to justify the cost for tier2 storage serve both the purposes for backup as well as archive.
Please share your thoughts and suggestions
