Chuck, very good post but you overlooked one option. EMC customers have the choice to migrate their data to a private cloud (Atmos) while leaving their legacy apps on their native servers. Well, for open systems anyway; mainframe is a different discussion.

Customers can do this through EMC partners by using a Cloud SAN gateway for example. As long as their server supports iSCSI, the storage can be migrated now, and the application can follow later.

Just another option anyway.
