Let's face it -- EMC is an industry leader in storage and related disciplines.
And, when you earn the status of "industry leader", all of your competitors paint a target on you, and try and make you the bad guy.
There's nothing wrong with this -- it's how the industry has always worked.
Periodically, competitive vendors will do some sort of marketing video showing our products being destroyed in some fashion -- crushed, burnt, exploded, drowned, etc. Seems that sooner or later, every marketing department takes their turn on this theme.
Well, we've decided that our products are too valuable to be subject to this sort of continual desecration.
And, as a result, we've issued some new guidelines to our field personnel to prevent this sort of thing happening in the future...
Here you see one of our more experienced field services people deterring yet another competitor from attempting to damage our products for sole purpose of creating yet another corny marketing video:
Going forward, you're probably going to see a *lot fewer* of these sorts of viral videos as a result.
