Nicely done Chuck.

Thanks, Snig!

First rate production Chuck-- well done! I like the vision and as usual you articulated it very clearly. At the infrastructure level, IT organizations need to begin to formulate architectural models to advance this vision.

It brings up an interesting discussion about the 80/20 pie-- which is the core problem you referenced early in the video. The fundamental 80/20 challenge ITO's face is at the application layer, maintaining and evolving legacy systems.

Facile infrastructure is goodness but it won't solve the core resource allocation issue. Will SOA and agile development transform ITO's? Absolutely. How fast remains the question.

Hi David -- nor argument

All the business value in IT derives from user access to applications and information -- the rest is a necessary evil, no?

Another way of looking at this is "how do we absolutely minimize the cost and friction associated with all this plumbing?" -- the thinking being that this will free up considerably IT bandwidth to do just what you suggest.
