I think this is an idea whose time has come.
The people at RSA have set up an open community (non-vendor-specific) to talk broadly about emerging information security challenges that we'll all be facing before too long.
I found the discussion pretty interesting, and it looks like anyone is free to blog, post, discuss, etc.
If you're as interested in this topic as I am, it's here.

Information security should have a larger discussion in our society. As we become more connect we also become more vulnerable to security challenges and issues. The Infrastructure Management Institute (IMI) in the College of Informatics at Northern Kentucky University is leading efforts for such discussions. October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and the College of Informatics will be hosting the 2008 IMI Security Symposium & Expo. If you are in the area you should check it out: http://imi.nku.edu/security

Today users spread across geographies are provided access to data storage devices which has popularized the use of NAS and SAN technologies. Sensitive data traveling through worldwide networks or stored in devices within this network is at a risk of falling in wrong hands especially when the data is resting on storage media and devices or travelling over the network.
The Secure SAN and Secure NAS can be implemented by providing the same kind of security for data at rest and data in flight.
